It's Lipstick jungle out there

The other day when I was getting ready for our visitors to arrive, I noticed that actually all my lipsticks are nearly used.

And then I recalled that both of these shades have already vanished from the market, which means that when they end, once again another beautiful shades vanish into lipstick history and that I must begin my search for a new shade from the scratch. Argh!

Now, I kinda like shopping, so searching for the new share is not that horrible per se, just that have you been to the make up department of one department store lately? There about zillion shades to choose from!

Luckily some shades are definetily a no-no from the first eye, some are not glittering enough (yeah, I like that. A LOT), some cost too much (yeah, I do not want to spend a tenner to my lipstick in case I dislike it after all), some are too creamy, some too pale... you'll get the picture.

After doing some serious lipstick browsing, trying and thinking I'm down to just two. (Yeah, I did see about 4 other insteresting ones with one expensive brand, but I once got their product as a gift and did not like it, so I decided not to try on any of those 4 interesting ones...) Two is managable amount. I did even check and see where they cost what and I noticed that I can save up to 6 euros when I walk like two meters from one store to another! Wow...

Naturally, one problem remains: which one?
That's why I have not bought a new lipstick just yet. So far, I have not been able to make up my mind ( hah hah) between the two finalists. They both are in the pink/purple section of reds, by different brands, both are new shades. One costs 3.95 euros, and the other 5.60. The first one is share 5, the other 15. The first one is bit lighter and brighter shade, the other darker and glitters more. Aaaaargh, this is hard!

This is why I love to use the same shades, heh heh. I used a beutiful, glittering shade by Maybelline for several years and nobody was as disappointed as me when they stopped making it. It fit me perfectly and made my lips sparkle like no other lipstick before it. And more than that, it made me sparkle!

Many men do not get how much make up means to women, especially lipsticks. They are part of identity in their own special way. A good lipstick makes all the difference! It brightens up a dark, rainy day, it brings joy, it gives you that extra something when you're on your way to a date or job interview. Lipstick matters!

Now, I'm not going to hurry with my desicion. I'm going to do another test run tomorrow and see what the two look like. I did found few older gift lipsticks from my closet, which means that if I don't find either finalist great tomorrow, I can manage with the oldies. They're not that brilliant, but they'll help me through the transition period.

Of course I could do what many women do: buy both. But then I'd lose the fun of making another shopping tour... ;-)
